The city by the North Atlantic, about 400 km south of Casablanca is the city of Essaouira, which has very chill vibe, is right by the ocean, and is beloved by tourists. Driving towards it, you can see the whole city from a distance and it looks very inviting.

The city has a port area, has city walls and a medina.

Next to the medina is the fisherman's area where the locally caught fresh fish is displayed. There are fish and seafood of various kinds on offer. One fisherman had an almost 4 pound lobster for sale.
One can buy the fish and have it cooked. There are also restaurants close by which display their catch and allow you to choose specific items, then cook it for you.
Some of the items they cooked are below including the John Dory (San Pierre).
Morocco is a country with all kinds of geographical features, including the high Atlas mountains, the ocean, the desert. No wonder I saw camels at the beach, ready to give a ride to people who did not venture out to the desert.

The city also seemed to have a bunch of large navy ships stationed at the port.

people could get surfing or kite surfing lessons in Essaouira.

The Medina was pretty inside and out.

Inside the Medina, there were many kinds of shops, some sold really fine wooden items.

Some shops had artistic porcelain and glass objects.

Leather items and Argan oil was everywhere. Also interspersed between the shops are cafés offering mint tea, coffee and the various types of Moroccan pastries.

The ocean was calm near near the city walls and you could see the two large islands right off the coast.

The beach looked colorful with all the kite-surfers in the water.

If you get the seafood at any of the vendors, you can watch people go by, see the ocean while eating fresh seafood.

Essaouira is a fun place to visit on the coast of Morocco. It is between Agadir and Safi, not too far from Casablanca. It could be an interesting day trip or one can chill there for longer.
