Brunei is 72% rainforest and has a National park named Temburong that is reachable via the new Temburong bridge.
I did a one day rainforest tour which picks up all attendees from their hotels at 8am and assembles them in the rainforest lodge by 9am. With a safety briefing, signing waivers and answering medical fitness questions, we were off for the exploration.

A longboat carried 3 explorers and a guide and took us through the Sungai Temburong river for almost an hour, deep in the rainforest.

The first was lush green....

The river had enough water for the boat engines but the guide said yesterday some spots were shallow enough that people had to get out and push the boats as they got stuck on rocks.

After an hour, we came to the canopy walk area. We crossed the suspension bridge slowly and gingerly.

Then we came to the beginning of stairs which led to the first hut, followed by more stairs and more huts. Overall we had to climb about 750 steps.

Finally, we came to the tower. It was about 15 m tall structure made of aluminum trusses. It looked study, but felt rickety.

After you climbed the very top of the first tower, there was a platform which allowed you to move onto the next four sets of towers.

There were trees all around and they were humongously tall. Most had epiphytic plants growing on them.

The whole canopy looked lush green and peaceful.
After spending about an hour, we got back into the boat, and in 20 minutes, reached a place where there was a small waterfall.

The waterfall area also had a 'fish spa', you just sit with feet in the water and the small fish come nibble at your feet and it feels ticklish.

Next, we got into tubing, just lay in tubes and rode on the river current for about a kilometer until we hit the rainforest lodge. We were treated to a nice lunch of five different dishes which all were very healthy. That was the end of the adventure, and then the organizers drove all attendees over the newly built Temburong bridge back to Bandar Seri Begawan.
